What is CBD?Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of many naturally occurring chemical compounds found in hemp plants. CBD is non-psychoactive which means it won’t make you high. Our CBD Oil products are made of full spectrum hemp extract which includes all the hemp plant cannabinoids, not just CBD. Our full spectrum hemp extract has a higher concentration of CBD than any other cannabinoid. Therefore, we refer to our products as CBD Oil products.

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?Hemp is defined as the Cannabis sativa L plant that has less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC. Delta-9 THC (more commonly refered to as just THC) is the cannabinoid in cannabis that results in a psychoactive effect (a "high"). Since the maximum allowable level of delta-9 THC for hemp is so low, you will not experience any psychoactive effectwhile consuming hemp products. Marijuana is defined as the Cannabis sativa L plant that has more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC. Consuming marijuana will impart apsychoactiveexperience - meaning it will make you high. In marijuana, Delta-9 THC is typically above 10%, with many modern strains exceeding 30%. All Upstate Alchemy products contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC, the federally legal limit.

We developed our Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract formulation for customers who are subject to periodic or random drug testing by their employer. We remove the trace amounts of THC that exist in our Full Spectrum Hemp Extract (utilizing state-of-the-art chromatography processes). All other cannabinoids remain. Where is the hemp in Upstate Alchemy's products grown and processed?Made from hemp grown, processed, and packaged in South Carolina. Our CBD comes from hemp grown on South Carolina farms. The hemp is then processed and packaged in a GMP compliant, FDA registered, South Carolina hemp processing facility.

What is Upstate Alchemy’s testing policy? All Upstate Alchemy products are fully tested by an independent ISO certified testing facility. Upstate Alchemy’s products have been tested multiple times from seed to sale! Prior to harvest, at the request of our South Carolina farmers, Cannabinoid potency, pesticide, and heavy metal testing are completed by an independent laboratory. Our processing partner visits the farm and retreives their own sample before accepting shipment of any hemp biomass (plant material). That sample is tested for cannabinoid potency, pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial contamination. After receiving the hemp biomass and extracting the full spectrum oil (sometimes referred to as "crude"), the facility submits a sample for cannabinoid potency, heavy metal, residual solvent, microbial and mycotoxin testing by an independent laboratory. Once Upstate Alchemy’s products are packaged, they are submitted for cannabinoid potency and microbial testing by an independent laboratory. We make the resulting lab sheet available to all consumers on our website on the Quality page. Our SC grown, processed, and packaged hemp is tested at least 4 times from seed to sale to ensure the purest and highest quality hemp CBD products available.

What is the difference between Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum?Full Spectrum Hemp Extract Contains less than 0.3% THC, the legal limit. Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract We further process our Full Spectrum Hemp Exrtract (using state-of-the-art chromatography processes) to remove the trace amounts of THC. All other cannabinoids remain.
-
What does Full Spectrum Hemp Extract mean?Full Spectrum Hemp Extract contains everything the plant has to offer, including the "Full Spectrum" of cannabinoids. This includes Delta-9 THC in trace amounts. All products made from Full Spectrum Hemp Extract will contain trace Delta-9 THC levels of less than 0.3% (the federal legal limit). What is the advantage to using Full Spectrum Hemp Extract? Since the full spectrum of cannabinoids remain, using products made from Full Spectrum Hemp Extract, allows all of the cannabinoids to work together, synergistically, to create a stronger effect than any one cannabinoid could on its own. This is known as "The Entourage Effect".
-
What does Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract mean?To make Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract, our Full Spectrum Hemp Extract is processed further (utilizing state-of-the-art chromatography processes) to remove Delta-9 THC. All other cannabinoids remain. All products labeled "Zero-THC" are made using our Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract.

These receptors work with cannabinoids made by the body, and those made by plants such as hemp. The ECS helps keep the body’s internal systems regulated and in balance creating homeostasis.
